A Salad like a Monet Painting
This salad I am sure, the French Impressionist painter Monet would have love to paint it and to eat it.
Claude Monet was passionated by art and cuisine. It said that Monet had two palates..the one he painted with and the one he appreciated cuisine with. When you visit his home in Giverny village (located in the region of France called Normandy near Paris) you understand those words. In Giverny, Monet grew his own herb and vegetable garden, during Autumn foraged wild mushrooms, designed his own Limoges dining pattern, and entertained guests in a true celebration of gastronomy.
Guests would enjoy a lunch in the garden or an intimate meal set in Monet’s beautiful yellow unique dining room. Monet’s artistic sensibility extended to the culinary canvas of the dining room table, it would be adorned with magnificent floral arrangements, Monet’s yellow and blue Limoge place settings, and the incredible dishes prepared to Monet’s specifications by his cook Marguerite.
When Eva and Ron from ( Trethowan Organic Farm @ Temecula Farmer’s Market), suggested this Spring Mix Green Salad called Awesome Eva’s Salad, I knew it will be amazing.
At home when I opened the bag I could not be happier to see so many differents sprouts, leaves, bright or dark green, dark purple, then different sprouts ( among them Corn sprouts ), colorful edible flowers, and even fresh peanuts.
I prepared it with a little simple vinaigrette ( Olive Oil/ White Balzemic vinegar, salt and pepper).
This salad is a fireworks in your mouth, the different textures, flavors are above any other salad you had before.
Visit Trethowan Organic Farm booth/ stand @ Temecula Farmer’s Market ( Wednesday and Saturday), Eva and Ron will introduce you to a new concept or Organic produce . They have the best Free-Range eggs, Blood Oranges, guava,… the selection differs with the Season.
