Virtual Cooking class for kids – Riverside CSD – 3 classes serie

During this new cooking series, young chefs learn virtually how to make delicious food by themselves in the comfort of their own kitchen. For safety reasons, help from an adult is required. All levels are welcome. Menu, ingredients and equipment listed below. Virtual classroom log-in information located on receipt.
Menu of 09/14/20
Quiche Lorraine
Serves 6 mini quiches
- 1 sheet thawed Pepperidge puff pastry ( freezer section)
- 4 -5 cooked ham slices or bacon slices (6-7)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 Tbsp milk
- 5 large eggs
- 1 cup Gruyère or Swiss cheese whole or grated or slices
- Butter or olive oil
· a 9 1/2-inch deep-dish pie plate or 1 greased muffin pan
· flour
· glass or cup bigger than muffin holes
· oil spray if not using butter or oil
Material: muffin pan, whisk, different sizes of bowls, spatula

Bacon, and leek Mac and Cheese
Serving 6
- 8 slices Thick Cut Bacon, cut in small pieces
- 1 leek, cleaned and diced zucchini
- 6 Tbsp Butter, divided
- ½ – 1 cup mix shredded cheese or shredded Swiss cheese ( quantity depends how much you want cheese)
- 1 pound Macaroni
- 1/4 cup All-purpose Flour
- 2 cups Whole Milk
- 1/2 cup Half-and-half (optional)
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- Kosher Salt And Black Pepper To Taste
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- 1 cup Panko or bread crumb
Material : medium pot au saucepan, different sizes of bowls, knife, cutting board, wooden spoon, spatula, baking sheet

Turkey meatballs in garlicky sub sandwich
Serving 10
- 1 package ground Turkey
- ½ bunch of fresh parsley or any herbs chopped ( very thinly)
- 2 pressed garlic cloves
- Breadcrumb or panko or bread shredded
- 1 can Tomato sauce
- Optional garlic and onion powder
- 1 egg
- Salt & pepper
- Olive oil
- flour
Material: bowls different sizes, baking dish,garlic press, knife, cutting board
Garlic sub bread
For 8- 10 buns
- 6 Tbsp melted butter
- 2-3 clove of garlic pressed
- Salt
- Buns/ bread rolls
Material : baking sheet, pastry brush or paper towel
