French Basque villages, Madona and Mache Salad for lunch
I am still going through my Summer in France pictures and I realize how Southern West of France is a unique place. Located between the Atlantic Ocean, the Pyrenees Mountains, with Spain border nearby and Bordeaux not too far, this is one of the most beautiful area in France. Actually, Madona thinks the same thing she is renting a house in Bidart Village with kids and boyfriend for the summer.
The Basque people speak their own language : Euskara, they have their own traditions, architecture, flag, food, cooking, fabric, espadrilles shoes….they are very proud of their land and we are all thankful for it!
Salad is the only thing I want to eat when it is too hot outside. This mache salad is fresh, crispy.
This one is super easy: Mache salad, Manchego ( Spanish Sheep cheese), Walnuts, Dijon Mustard and baguette with homemade figs jam. Perfect pairing, delicate flavors reinforced with Manchego cheese.
Bidart Village – Atlantic Basque Coast
Guetary Village and houses – Basque Coast- Madona was not there yet!
