CC: Hi ! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
E : A little bit about myself?
I am just a regular woman, awww going to be 44 in the middle of summer. I love to cook (obviously) and gardening. I never been to any cooking class or cooking school, but like to collect good cookbooks.
CC: What is the name of your Blog and how did you get started your Blog?
E: I actually have 3 blogs, believe it or not. Elra’s Cooking and Elra’s baking
, and Elra’s Garden It was started when one of my sister moved overseas in Summer 2007. She used to e-mail or phone ask for a recipe. So, I finally decided to create a blog in November 2007. Was not really sure about it, but they loved it. So, here I am with 3 blogs to share not just with my sisters but also to all of you.
CC: Where did the name originate from?
E: Just my name.
CC: What is your mentor/inspiration?
E: I don’t really have mentor, and there are too many blogger out there who inspired me, It is impossible to name one.
CC: How would you describe your cooking style?
E: using many ingredients that are still sound foreign to my sisters, but also try to make it as simple as possible, or else… my sisters will run away from the kitchen
CC: What is a typical day for you?
E: Probably like many of you who don’t work, when I get up in the morning I enjoy a cup of coffee in front of my laptop, then doing some errands, exercise, check my garden. Cook and create something. There is always something to do around the house, if you know what I mean. Meet friends for teas… etc
CC: What are your best Cooking Creations?
E: Hmmm, can’t think of any, maybe Pierre Herme’s Chocolate Puff pastry? not sure….
CC: In your daily life how Green are you?
E: I do recycle for sure, grow my own vegetables (I have 15 large vegetable boxes) and fruits (I have 43 fruit trees), learning to make compost (still in process), try to unplugged any appliances that is not in use, not to turn on the AC unless if its more then 100 degrees outside, buy organic product and produce whenever possible, I don’t provide chemical for for my cleaning lady to clean the house. My gardener only use organic fertilizer only if needed.
CC:What is your favorite Kitchen tool, object in your kitchen and why?
E:My butcher block and my Chef knife, because I do a lot of cutting/chopping
CC: What is a beautiful table setting for you?
E: It depends on what I am going to serve, in general I like it simple but elegant.
CC: What is the most unusual/ scary, delicious, ingredients, fruits, vegetable, spice you ever used when cooking?
E:None.
CC: Can you share with us what you have in your freezer today

Hi Celine, I just want to comment to Cinzia … I hope you don’t mind…
Ci my dear,
you are so funny LOL. How about wearing your beautiful embroidery apron that you just send from Italy for me (OMG, Was that a nice surprise or what)? Of course I would wear my mile-high heels too. You see I am a very stylish cook, sadly I can’t chop that fast (hick). I can slice thin, I mean very thin, thanks to my beautiful Japanese chef knife!
