Les Madeleines
Madeleine is my father’s favorite cookies. Tomorrow, November 1st is his birthday and it is always difficult for me to be away from my family’s birthdays. I am thinking of him, and I wanted to dedicate this simple so delicious recipe to him!
Joyeux Anniversaire papa!
While I was in France this summer I bought madeleines-pan. You can find them in good cook stores.
What is a Madeleine cookie? This is a scallop-shaped soft and light French cookie immortalized by Marcel Proust in his autobiographical book “Á la recherche du temps perdu” (Remembrance of Things Past), where a taste of these cookies plunges Proust back into his childhood. Today Proust’s madeleine has become a metaphor in France for anything that creates a vivid memory.
My version has almond and orange in it, it make the cookie more dense and a stronger taste. These cookies are wonderful for tea -time or in your kids’ lunchbox or snack.

I love madeleines and will definitely try this recipe! Celine, I have a question. I have a lot of organic oranges that don’t have much taste/flavor. Do you have any ideas as to what to do with them? (I just didn’t want to throw away, if there is any other use…) Thanks!
