Superb Brussels Sprout warm salad-
In this new “easy to make “serie, I am sharing some ideas for quick fix meals. Easy to make, few ingredients ( most of them are already staple in my pantry) I recommend you to have a good oil, good vinegar, nuts, dried and fresh fruit and fresh herbs with these culinary gem you can make the best of the best salad. These ingredients are easy to find around Thanksgiving – Christmas time.
The last post was about a quinoa-lentils bowl, top delicious and easy to make.
This salad is a new way to enjoy boring Brussels sprouts. Add some new textures, the right flavors and balancing seasoning and the result is stunning.
Serving warm is the key since all flavors will melt together and enhance each other flavors.
Superb Brussell Sprout warm salad
1 1/2 cup shredded Brussell sprouts
Olive oil
Salt
Pepper
Drizzle Walnut oil ( optional) but this one works beautifully
1 tsp Balsamic vinegar
1-2 Tbsp Dried cranberries
1/3 cup Hazelnuts broken
Small Granny Smith Apple
2-3 Medjool dates diced
Fresh mint
In a pan add olive oil when hot ( medium heat) place sprouts and cook for 7-10 minutes until al dente but tender.
Add cranberries, apple, hazelnut sauté for a few minutes.
Set aside .
Drizzle walnut oil and balsamic serve when still warm.
NB: Season the way you like add more mint or balsamic vinegar for stronger taste.
